rtx1000 setup with linux serial port

According to the RTX1000 manual you can log in with the serial port.

Serial port

Got a cable for 105 yen from Hard Off.

minicom

A program called minicom is necessary to talk to the serial port. Install minicom via apt-get.

minicom -s

to start configuration. Configure device to be /dev/ttyS0 & other options as per page 47 of Users.pdf manual of RTX1000 manual.

Router

Switch off router and turn it back on again & the router’s copyright notice appears on the minicom screen.
